Ive always told myself that once the community was sick of these things that i would stop with these, so today, as you can see above is my last pokeball, i wont be doing anymore new ones.
Id like to answer some common questions that have been put forward to me:
Q1. How do you do it?
Answer: Well as Ive said previously, I created a template pokeband (the black bit that binds the picture) , this took alot of time as I really wanted to create something realistic for the pokeballs.
From the there I found the right angle to place on a suitable stock image and used the "blend" tool to push in the sides around the edges (from left to right) creating an illusion that the pokeball is two parts (top and bottom).
After that I would find a suitable color filter and fix the brightness/contrast and if I could find a suitable render, would place it inside.
And thats pretty much it, but don't be fooled, each one took alot of time to perfect and yes there have been some crap ones but im quite proud of what I achieved with most of them.
Q2. Why so many?
Answer: Well at first I thought it was a pretty cool concept to follow on with but the main reason is becoz all of you lovely people out there WANTED to see different styles and characters and I set out to accomplish as many as I can so there you go.
Answer: Yes, I do realise that many render etc are copyrighted materials, but as Ive always stated I haven't made a single cent of this "fame" that has floated my way.
In fact (incase you didnt know) if been featured in Nintendo Magazine and .... yeah they didnt care so why should anyone else? lol but anyways who cares doesnt matter anymore I guess.
A LITTLE SECRET: Well noone really knows this but i think its ok to post it now, I was dealing with severe depression at the time of the Watertype pokeball (the first one I made) and I really found that it was quite therapeutic to create these and get good feedback, it felt good and made me feel a little relevant in this world, i liked making people happy
It was never my intention upset anyone and never my intention to be on the front page every time, trust me.
So yeah in conclusion there has been WAY too much hype/hysteria and controversy and have decided to call it quits on this type of artwork. It's on the pokeball creation part though, if I create for example a game cover that happens to contain one of my pokeballs then thats okay, its just that there will be no more new ones.
Thank you to all those wonderful people who enjoyed my pokework and gave me such awesome ideas along the way, without you i wouldn't have a clue what to do next xD
